TikTok: Opportunity For Content Creators

In this article I will explain why the app TikTok is a great opportunity for content creators in 2020. If you make video content, or are interested in making short video clips, then you should be using TikTok. Allow my to explain why TikTok is such a good platform for content creators.

TikTok

Video sharing app TikTok has been a clear favorite among the public during 2020. The app focuses on users posting short video clips and people are engaging a lot with TikTok. I recommend you focus attention on producing several pieces of content a day for TikTok. The reason I recommend that you focus on TikTok is simply because the app is so popular right now. People are paying a lot of attention to the content that gets posted on there.

It seems like it is a lot harder to grow nowadays on YouTube and Instagram. As a creator you want people to see your content. Therefore you need to be on the platforms that people are actually going to on a consistent basis. I have written in a previous article how I believe that TikTok is a serious competitor to Facebook’s Instagram. Check out that article for more information about this subject.

I’m a new content creator who is trying to grow on various social media platforms. I have had videos that received tens of thousands of views on TikTok. On other platforms, I have never had a video get those kinds of views. I feel that YouTube and Instagram have become too saturated with content. It is difficult for new content creators to grow on those platforms. This is why you should currently focus more of your efforts on creating content for TikTok. Also, Instagram’s business model focuses on having users pay to have their content promoted to others. They are not in the business of having you grow on their platform for free. Unless you are already a famous celebrity, Instagram can seem like a waste of time in 2020.

Out with the old

Social media apps have life cycles. Growing up with the popularization of the internet I have seen many kinds of social media trends come and go over the years. In the early days of the internet, people communicated back and forth using only text. Chat rooms used to be popular. Then you had messaging apps such as ICQ and MSN messenger emerge. No one I know still uses ICQ or MSN messenger. Those apps were once popular and almost all my friends used them to communicate. Then came social media site MySpace, which today is hardly the vibrant social media community it once was. Facebook came along to displace MySpace as the new dominant social media site. You remember when almost everyone was telling you to get on Facebook. Now you hear stories of people quitting Facebook. It’s no longer the fastest growing social media platform.

Next came Instagram, which Facebook bought in order to control competition. In my opinion, Instagram is starting to seem stale. TikTok is the new hot social media app of the day. I don’t think people will stop using Instagram any time soon. It will still have a strong position among social media apps.

People often use social media to try and build followers or become an individual of influence. If people are posting content to Instagram and not many people are seeing it, they will move to platforms where people actually see their content. Instagram is in the business of having you pay them to have your content be promoted to the right people. Non sponsored content creators are already creating content for free. If creators now have to pay Instagram to promote it will generally be a losing proposition.

Conclusion

It is a good idea to focus on TikTok as a significant part of your social media strategy in 2020. There is a more opportunity for you to go viral with your content on TikTok. Instagram is in the business of having you pay them to promote your content. TikTok actually promotes the content you create when people open the app. Try focusing more of your creative energies on TikTok for a while instead of other platforms. I think you will be impressed with the results.

How To DJ: A Beginner’s Guide

So you have decided you would like to try to learn how to DJ. Great idea. Even if you don’t do gigs, learning to DJ can be a fun way to play your music at home. Instead of simply pressing play on Spotify or Apple Music, learning how to DJ takes time and practice to get better at. In this article I will explain the basics of how to DJ and what you will need to get started.

How to DJ

First, you will need equipment. Here you have a lot of options. DJ gear can get expensive so think carefully before you make a purchase. Do you own a lot of vinyl records? If so, then buying turntables may be a good idea for you. If you own mostly digital music files, it might be a good idea to obtain a digital set up. Start by heading over to the Pioneer website. You can take a look at a wide range of DJ equipment there.

You can purchase what are called “DJ players”. These are machines which are standalone music players. You would need to purchase 2 players and a also mixer to connect them to. This is what most professional DJs use in clubs. Standalone players can cost thousands of dollars and the mixer to connect them to is generally equally as expensive. One less expensive alternative is to buy a “controller” which you connect to a laptop. This is sometimes viewed as a slightly less reliable set up since laptops can malfunction and have other issues. DJ players are considered to be reliable, dedicated, standalone music players.

What music will you play?

Once you have acquired some equipment, you will need to consider what genres of music you will be focusing on playing. You can purchase your music from a wide variety of online music stores, such as iTunes. I would recommend checking out the website Beatport. It’s a great website to discover new electronic music and it’s a favorite among DJs worldwide. Check out Beatport often for new releases and try to stay up to date with your favorite genres. Spend time listening to a lot of different music to find out what you love the best. Download the tracks you love and add them to your DJ collection.

Learning to mix

Learning to mix is not something that is easily written about. The best DJs are able to create a seamless mix between their tracks. Listeners are taken on a journey through a wide range of music, each song blending seamlessly into the next. That’s the ideal situation. However, sometimes certain tracks do not mix very well. The job of a skilled DJ is to find ways to make tracks sound interesting and complementary when mixed together. A good DJ is a great at improvisation. They know how to correct mistakes quickly if something goes wrong. Having a background in music theory can also help you as a DJ. Remember, practice makes perfect. Learning to mix takes time. Put in hours of practice mixing and you will see improvements over time.

Conclusion

Being a DJ is not extremely difficult, you just need to spend some time doing a bit of research to get started. You will need DJ equipment, music, and the ability to mix that music together in an ear pleasing way. Try to find opportunities to DJ for other people. You will learn what people enjoy and what they don’t. Also, it forces you to keep mixing track after track. Playing live is the best way to hone your skills.

How To Be More Productive: Be Conscious of Time

In today’s blog post, I will write about how to be more productive by being conscious of time. It is important to achieve a certain level of productivity in today’s society. If you are a small independent business owner, for example, you may be competing with highly organized corporations. If you are not focused on productivity, how do you expect to compete with these highly developed, fine-tuned, profitable businesses? You will need to develop a method for being productive in order to remain competitive.

How to be more productive

In order to be more productive you will need to set time constraints on certain activities in your life. In a previous article, I have written about setting time limits on your creativity. You need to establish time constraints for yourself when you are trying to be productive. Without time limits you can spend too much time on certain tasks which are not adding to your overall productivity.

Let’s take the example of a blogger. In yesterday’s article, I wrote about why, as a blogger, you should write one new blog post each day. I would recommend setting a time limit on creating that daily blog of no more than an hour. Does that seems like a short amount of time to write an article? Let me tell you about my experience.

Some days, I can produce my daily blog in about half an hour to one hour. Other days, it can take me 4 hours to produce a post due to procrastination and time wasting. As you may know, I try to participate as a content creator in a wide variety of online media platforms. If I were to spend 4 hours every day on a single blog post, I would have a lot less time for these other platforms.

Only 24 hours in a day

You have heard the old saying, “time is money”. If I were to spend 4 hours each day working just on one blog post, I could have potentially earned $80 in that time at a $20 per hour job. In economics, they talk about opportunity cost. Opportunity cost is what you have to give up to get something. For example, let’s say I decide to quit a $30,000 per year job and go back to school. My opportunity cost is all the things I am giving up to go back to school, including the $30,000 I could have earned working the job.

Imagine you are a content creator. If you spend 4 hours in a day working on a blog, instead of half an hour, you’re missing out on all the other things you could have done in that additional 3.5 hour time period. You could have been producing a YouTube video as well. Or, you could have taken photos for Instagram, or made a video for TikTok. Additionally, you could have also streamed on Twitch for several hours as well. Spending 4 hours a day on a blog post might be fine if you are being paid by a large media corporation and that’s all you have to do in a day. Most independent bloggers and content creators will have multiple other things they need to do in a day rather than just their blog. It is not easy to make a living on blogging alone, so do not put all your eggs in one basket.

Conclusion

In order to be more productive you need to give yourself time constraints. You cannot spend all day completing one task. There are many tasks that need to be done in a day when you are running a business. If you spend 4 hours on something that could have been done in an hour, you are harming productivity. Try to put time constraints on activities and stick to those time schedules.

Sometimes in workplaces, you are given a training session to complete. Generally, workplaces do not give you the entire day to do the training at your leisure. Corporations put time constraints on employees in order to keep them productive. Perhaps, self-employed individuals need to adopt a similar mentality to boost their productivity as well. Taking multiple hours to complete a task that could have taken one only harms ourselves as small business proprietors.

Thank you for taking the time to read this blog today. It was created in about 45 minutes. I am trying to follow my own advice on productivity and I hope you will try this method as well. Have a great day.

Building Your Blog: Create Content Daily

In this article, I will write about the process of building your blog. It’s a good idea to add content to your blog every day. I’ll write about why this is important and hopefully I can inspire you to start building your blog today.

Building your blog

So you have decided you want to be a blogger. This is excellent news. I have written in a previous article about why most people should start their own blog. It’s a great thing to do to build your influence in the world. In order to build that influence you have to be consistent. You should post one article to your blog every single day. Many of you may be thinking that this sounds difficult. It seems arduous to come up with a new idea to blog about every day. I personally recommend you to challenge yourself and try to complete one article per day for your blog. I feel it is the best way to start building your blog.

A slow process

When you are building your blog, do not expect success to arrive overnight. A few articles will not create a quality website. You need to have a lot of content to compete with all those other news and information websites out there. Your content needs to provide some kind of value to other people, otherwise people will generally not enjoy your content or find it relevant. Adding quality content to your website daily is a way to ensure that you are constantly working to provide new value to your readers. There are days when you may feel ill and be unable to complete a blog that day. It is fine to miss the odd day here and there. However, I urge you to remain consistent.

Building a daily habit

As humans, we tend to be creatures of habit. We tend to get into daily routines and patterns. If you get into the daily routine of writing one blog post, you will find it hard to get out of that habit. Since I have started writing one blog post a day, I find it strangely difficult to stop doing it. It becomes a kind of addiction. Additionally, I feel that I have not been as productive in a day if I have not written a daily blog post. I feel like the process of writing has a way of clarifying and distilling my thoughts. Get into the habit of writing a new blog post every day. Not only will it be great for building your blog, you will also be improving your writing abilities daily.

Practice makes perfect

When you do something every sing day, you cannot help but get better at it. Writing is the same. If you practice writing every single day, eventually you will become a great writer. I am not a strong believer in “talent”. I personally believe that almost any “talented” person we see, such as a musician or artist, has actually put in thousands of hours of practice to reach that level of talent or skill. It would be very difficult to be an excellent writer without spending many hours practicing the craft of writing. This seems like common sense to me. Practice makes perfect, as the old saying goes. Writing one blog post a day will make certain that you are spending a decent amount of time each day devoted to the writing process. This will help you grow as a writer.

Conclusion

Rome wasn’t built in a day. If you are going to have a great blog it will not be built in one day either. If a blog is not kept alive with fresh content, it will die like a plant without water. In today’s society, content creators need to be active in producing new content on a frequent basis, or risk being forgotten in a sea of social media content. Keep pushing yourself to create quality blog content daily and eventually you will start to break through previous mental boundaries that held you back before. If you need tips to overcome writer’s blog, check out this post I wrote about the subject.

Thank you for taking the time to read this article. Have a great day.

Cleaning Your Home: The Joy of House Care

Today’s blog post is about cleaning your home. It was written by my mother, Elizabeth Gillespie. I hope you enjoy this guest blog post today regarding the joy of a clean home. Thank you for reading.

Cleaning your home

Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young had a great hit song back in the 1970’s entitled “Our House “. I wish there were more songs in praise of “home”.

Early Memories

One of my early memories about feeling proud of my living quarters was while spending a month at a summer camp when I was eleven years old. Every morning my tent mates and I rolled up and tied the sides and front flaps of our old canvas tent, letting in light and fresh air. Then we tidied up our cots, tucked clothes, boots, etc. in their proper places, organized orange crates neatly and swept the floor boards clean. The final touch was a small bouquet of wild flowers in an enamel cup placed near the tent entrance.

During the morning while we participated in swimming, canoeing lessons, and other camp activities, the camp nurse, with clipboard in hand, made her inspection rounds. After lunch with all the campers
present the nurse would announce her tent group ratings. The group with the top score got to keep a big, beautiful, handmade stuffy owl for the day. The competition was fun and the tents were ridiculously
tidy and attractive.

Helpful tips

Over the years I have picked up helpful tips about keeping my home up to an acceptable standard, from my perspective. The tip contributors include my sister, my sister-in-law, a nursing school instructor, and oh yes, my mother too.

1. As the kitchen goes so goes the house or apartment. Always start with the kitchen.

2: Undesirable microbes prefer dark, damp places. Let daylight in where ever possible and ring out kitchen cloths and sponges. Drape them in ways to let them dry out.

3: Keep gravity in mind. Pay attention to floors.

4: With a two story set up have baskets at the top and bottom of the stairs. During the day when you pick up toys, clothes, and other items; put them in the closest basket. Then when going up or downstairs take a basket along with you. This will reduce trips!

5: Give your home a gift now and then, a coat of paint, new curtains, maybe a chair or whatever you like and can afford.

6: This is the fun one. Plan a party or get together with friends. Then prep your home for the occasion. Make attractive changes, big or small. For example, change pictures on the wall, tidy bookshelves, have a few games handy. Let the house reflect your unique style.

Final piece of advice

Finally, a saying I am quite fond of is “when in doubt, go out”, preferably on a pleasant day. Then return with new insight to your safe, charming abode, your very own creation.

What Should I Do With My Life?

Sometimes, we might ask ourselves this question, what should I do with my life? What is the best use of my time here on this planet? How should I be spending my time each day? In this post I will try to answer some of these questions and see if any clarity can be gained by a careful examination of this issue.

What should I do with my life?

Many people have known for a long time what they wanted to spend their lives doing, but others are still on that journey. In today’s gig economy, and especially in the current COVID-19 era, many individuals are having to re-think what they do for work and how they live their lives. Musicians, for example, who may have made a living by touring and playing live shows, may now be thinking about how they will make an income in a physically distanced society. So this question can arise for anyone and at any age, what should I do with the time I have left in my life?

Leave something behind

One way you can live your life is by trying to leave your mark on society. Artists, writers, actors, musicians, and other influential people often leave legacies behind them when they are no longer alive. How do you want to be remembered? Go out and start living the life you want to live now, creating the things you want to create. We will only be remembered by the things that we leave behind. The photographs we take, the music we make, and the literature that we write. Take time to create works of art. Whether it is paintings, photographs, literature, or music. These are the things that individuals may study 500 years from now. We study literature today from thousands of years ago, so why wouldn’t our literature be of interest to future generations?

Help other people

When you have passed away and people look back on your life. How do you want to be remembered? Do you want to be known as someone who was selfish and never helped anyone out? Do you want to be known as someone who was very rich but never took time to donate any of your money? Or do you want to be remembered as someone who was kind, caring, and compassionate? The choices you make today influence the legacy that you leave behind in life. Below is a YouTube video where Oprah Winfrey talks about what Maya Angelou told her regarding leaving a legacy. Listen to what she says. It’s good advice.

What is your passion?

What do you really love to do in life? When you’re asking the question “what should I do with my life?”; chances are you just have not found your passions yet. People often talk about finding your “passion” as if you can only have one passion. Imagine if you were passionate about writing, but all you did all day was write and never took time to gain any kind of inspiration from other things in life? I believe you can have multiple things in life that you are equally passionate about, and you should. You might love playing music, but also love raising your family. That’s perfectly normal. You should not neglect your family for your career. Life is about finding a balance.

You may think that a certain activity has to be your passion and that can often cause you to neglect to pursue other activities. Focus on what you love to do the best. If you “love” music but haven’t picked up your guitar in months maybe you don’t love it as much as you think you do. What do you spend your time doing or thinking about constantly? What could you do for the rest of your life and be happy doing? Think about how your choice will effect your legacy.

You have options

I still ask myself this same question every day. What should I do with my life? Sometimes we just are not satisfied with what we are doing on a day to day basis. We can work to change that. We may be working a job we dislike, but often we see other people doing jobs that seem fun. I used to work in an office building doing work that paid the bills but I was not passionate about. Every day before work I would walk into a building that had a radio station on the main floor. Being a musician, I used to think, wouldn’t it be fun to get into radio? I said to myself “why can’t I do that?”. Well, I don’t work for a radio station yet, but I did start my own radio broadcast on the Mixcloud platform. You can check out my radio show here.

The possibilities to pursue your dreams are out there. Especially in today’s modern technological society. The internet has opened up a wide range of opportunities for individuals to be creative on a global scale. Take advantage of the internet as much as you can.

Summing up

When asking the question, “What should I do with my life?”, You need to consider what we have discussed. What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind? Do you want to be someone who reaches a lot of people with art, music, or writing? Or do you simply want to work, get paid, and feed your family. Both are valid choices. It’s not easy to make a living as an artist.

Think about what you would love to do, try to find a way to do it, but at the same time try to leave something behind that others can remember you by. You only live once. Try to leave your mark on this world. Give something back. Try to help others. This way you’ll feel satisfied with how you live your life, and your legacy will be a good one as well.

Waking Up Early: The Benefits Of An Early Start

In this article I will write about some of the benefits to waking up early in the day. There are many reasons why waking up quite early in the morning is a good thing for you to do. Let’s now go over why waking up early in the day is a good idea for you.

Waking up early

One benefit to waking up early in the day has to do with health. There are benefits to awakening and sleeping at the same times as the sun rises and sets. In modern times, with the invention of electricity and artificial lights, we hear of many people suffering from insomnia. Scientists know that artificial light keeps us awake at night. Try to sleep with your window blind’s open at night. This can help to eliminate insomnia. Imagine being woken up at 6:00 AM in the morning by the sun. Next, imagine how you would feel at 11 PM that night. It would be hard to stay awake past 11:00 PM if you had not had a nap. Waking up early can really help with insomnia and irregular sleeping patterns.

Quiet time of the day

Another reason for waking up early in the morning is that there are far less distractions than later in the day. Once other people have woken up, there are more phone calls, emails, and other kinds of interruptions which can arise during the day and disrupt your workflow. By waking up early in the day, you are ensuring yourself a small window of time to work on your projects, before the rest of the world wakes up and requires your attention for various reasons. You are also mentally alert and ready to handle your most important challenges of the day in the morning due to having a full night’s rest. I have written previously about the power of accomplishing your most important tasks first thing in the morning.

First thing in the morning is the best time to work on tasks.

The early bird

Waking up early provides you with an advantage in life. Before other people have woken up, you have already made strong progress towards achieving your goals. When it’s time to go to bed, with this method, you’ll fall asleep quickly and easily. Other people often stay up late, watching T.V., or interacting with their smartphones, and end up having a sub par sleep because of it. Sleep is very important. I’ll leave a link to a great book on sleep for you to check out here. It explains how sleep is of the utmost importance for our health and wellness.

Conclusion

Try waking up early each day. By waking up early, you can start to eliminate your insomnia. You will feel less depressed spending more time in the sun each day. Awakening and falling asleep with the sun is a more natural way to spend life. Avoid your smartphone or computer at night and get to bed early. Waking up early is one of the best ways to improve your health and productivity.

Side Business Ideas: 5 Side Hustles

In this article I will write about 5 side business ideas that you can use to start creating a side hustle for yourself. We could generally all use some extra income in our bank accounts. With the cost of food and rents rising, it helps to have some extra money coming in. Here are the 5 side business ideas you can look into.

Side Business Ideas

The first side business idea for you is YouTube. Many people earn extra income by producing YouTube videos. People all around the world watch YouTube a lot and there are channels for almost everything. What is it that you are passionate about? Maybe you love playing video games. Why not start a gaming YouTube channel? Record yourself playing video games and put clips on YouTube of it. I’ve heard of people making thousands of dollars a month doing this. It will take time and effort to build your channel. Here is a link to my YouTube channel where I post my music and video game clips. Please subscribe to me on YouTube to support my channel!

Blogging

The website you are reading now is a form of a side business. You can start a blog and add to it in your spare time. In addition to your current job, blogging can become a side income for you. You will need to write blog often and produce quality content frequently in order to build up your website. You can then run ads alongside your content and you then have the potential to make money. This is exactly how news websites operate. I have an article on my website about how to get started with blogging. You can read the article here.

Photographer

Do you love to snap photos on your phone all day? Why not take your passion to the next level and launch a side business as a photographer? You will need to have some money to acquire decent camera equipment. Even though you know you can take amazing photos with just your phone, others may not see you as professional if you show up to shoot their wedding with an iPhone. Spend some cash upfront to acquire some decent photography equipment and then try marketing your services online. This is not an easy side hustle to do currently in the age of COVID-19, but you could always get into solo nature photography in the meantime. I’m not saying photography is an easy side-hustle to make money from, but it is a legitimate business you can launch in your spare time.

Social media personality

Do you have lots of followers on social media? Are you addicted to posting on TikTok and Instagram all day? Why not try to turn your following into a side business? Brands are willing to pay people with large followings to promote products or services. Why not try building up your followers so you can become a social media personality? I know these people are often looked down upon by society. As long as you don’t care what haters might say about you online, this can potentially be a good way to earn money. Remember, haters are just probably jealous of you.

Writer or Novelist

Do you love reading the latest science fiction novels? Perhaps you are obsessed with self-help books and have read dozens of them. Why not parlay your passion for words into a book? My goal is to eventually transform this blog into a book and publish it. I would also like to write a fictional novel one day as well. Life is short. You do not want to look back at life when you are close to death and wish you had published a book. Better get on it now while you are still living. It can also be a great side income. Maybe you can even transform your writing into a full-time career one day.

Conclusion

These are just 5 quick side businesses that almost anyone can start without requiring millions of dollars of capital to get going. Just writing this article is inspiring me to work on these areas as potential side businesses for myself. I think I will focus on writing a book. That is something that I would be proud of. Think about what you would like to leave behind, and get busy creating your masterpiece!

Thank you for taking the time to read this blog. Have a great day.

SEO: Search Engine Optimization

In this article I will write about SEO, also known as Search Engine Optimization. SEO is a process of writing content in a particular style for your blog in order to increase traffic to your website. This article will offer some quick tips that I have learned for improving your website’s SEO.

SEO Tips

If you want people to find you website when they search for a particular set of keywords then you need to make sure you are optimizing your blog post for those words. For example, in this article, I am writing about SEO, so obviously I want to make sure I am using the term SEO several times within this article. This is so search engines will recognize the content I am writing about and connect users appropriately. While you should use your keyword several times within an article, do not overuse keywords. It makes your blog harder to read and can decrease your SEO. Search engines can easily recognize if you are using a keyword repeatedly to try and trick their algorithm.

Keyword in title

If you want someone to visit your blog post about “classic cars”, for example, you should have the word “classic cars” at the start of the title of your blog post. You should add additional words to your title as well. You might have your blog title be something such as, “Classic Cars: My Favorite Cars of All Time”. This will make your title more interesting for your reader.

Post frequently

Another SEO strategy is to post frequently to your blog. Search engines give preference to websites which are updated often. If you update your blog every day with a new post, it gives your blog a boost in the search engine rankings compared to someone who updates their blog once a month. Try to keep your blog updated often with new and helpful content for your readers. A vibrant website will keep readers coming back as well as helping your SEO.

Use shorter sentences

Search engines tend to prefer concise statements. Instead of using long and drawn out sentences, try to be shorter and get right to the point. It can be fun as a writer to engage in long winded sentence writing. However, some readers find it harder to process long form sentence structures. For whatever reason, search engines tend to give preference to shorter sentences. Try to be precise with your blog writing.

Add links

Another technique which is recommended for improving your website’s SEO is by adding links in your articles to other blog posts on your site, as well as linking to other sites. Search engines like Google, give preference to websites which link to other sites as well as link to pages within their own site. Google is able to see the structure of your web pages and how you link to other sites. Always make sure to include links to posts within your own website, as well as linking out to other websites.

Conclusion

There are many ways that you can improve your website’s SEO, or Search Engine Optimization. Companies like Google need to recommend quality content to their customers. Make sure to optimize your website by providing quality content that’s written in a format that makes it friendly for search engines. These SEO tips can help you to increase traffic to your website.

Producing Content VS Consuming Content

It’s so easy for billions of people to create content nowadays. It’s also easy to get lost in the information of others and never create your own. Seeing a lot of content from other people can make you shut down and stop creating your own. It’s easier to scroll social media and enjoy the productivity of others rather than creating. In this article I will talk about the advantages of producing content rather than consuming content.

Producing content

Content creators need to spend more of their time creating content rather than consuming the content of others. Those who do not give, can not receive. As a creator, do not simply sit back and enjoy the content that other people have produced online. You will only make income by producing your own content. You need to shift your mentality. Try to find more enjoyment in producing content rather than watching the content of others.

Consuming content

It’s simpler for most people to relax and enjoy content created by others rather than producing their own. Many people like to enjoy a television show or news broadcast. They have no desire to produce their own TV show or host the news. However, without becoming a media producer yourself, how can you make money in the content creation industry?

People like to watch the productions of others to get ideas for things that they can make content about too. That is fine. To a certain extent. A problem arises though due to the addictive nature of social media apps. If we consume too much of other people’s media, we forget to produce our own. When we do produce content, it suffers because most of our energy for the day has been taken watching others. As a creator, try creating your most important content first thing in the day before watching others. For more information on this morning mentality, I have an article explaining the power of accomplishing important tasks first thing daily.

Conclusion

When everyone is a content creator it is easy to get caught up in watching the content other people create and consequently not creating your own. Take a look at other people’s content from time to time but do not let it influence you too much. If you spent all your life consuming other people’s content you would lack originality and create nothing of your own. The lesson of today’s blog is to be more of a producer, and less of a consumer of content. Otherwise your voice could get lost in the shuffle of the internet.
